Booking choice: The cruise port shuttle, from $135 per person. Check dates Tour details
Étretat is a village of about 1,250 people that takes around 1.5 million visitors a year. Most of them arrive by car, and the town has spent two years making that more expensive and more controlled. Paid parking now runs every day of the year, and since August 2026 an order lets the town shut the centre to visitors' cars once the car parks are 90% full.
The bus and coach network is better than its reputation. Below: every parking zone and price, where to leave the car, and the lines from Paris, Le Havre and the cruise terminal, with 2026 fares.
The quick answer
Red zone (centre): 3 euros an hour, 15 euros for the 5-hour maximum. Orange zone (Fréfossé, Grand Val, Route de Criquetot, Station): 7.50 euros for 5 hours, 15 euros for 10. Charges apply 9:00 to 19:00 every day, by meter or PayByPhone. A free car park on the Criquetot road is about 20 minutes' walk out. Without a car: LiA bus 21 from Le Havre Gares (hourly, 1.80 euros), or train to Bréauté-Beuzeville plus Nomad coach 504.
How much does parking cost in Étretat in 2026?
3 euros an hour in the centre (red zone, 5 hours maximum) and 15 euros a day in the outer car parks (orange zone, 10 hours maximum). Charges run 9:00 to 19:00, every day of the year.
These are the rates in force since 1 January 2025, as published by the Le Havre Étretat tourist office. Pay at the meter or with the PayByPhone app. Overstay the maximum and the charge jumps to a flat 50 euros, cut to 35 euros if you pay it quickly. That is the trap: a long lunch in the red zone can cost more than a day in the orange one.
| Zone | Car parks | Price | Maximum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red (centre) | Place de la Mairie, Place de Gaulle, Place du Marché | 3 euros for 1 h, 7.50 for 2 h 30, 15 for 5 h | 5 h; 50 euros beyond (35 reduced) |
| Orange (outer) | Fréfossé, Grand Val, Route de Criquetot, Station | 7.50 euros for 5 h, 15 euros for 10 h | 10 h; 50 euros beyond (35 reduced) |

Where is the best place to park in Étretat?
The orange-zone car parks for a half day or more, the free lot on the Criquetot road if you can walk 20 minutes, and the centre only for short stops outside July and August.
The red zone is small and full by late morning on any sunny weekend. In August 2025 a guest on the Rouen, Étretat and Deauville day wrote that "in Etretat it took him a whole hour to find a parking place", and that was a professional driver. Head for the orange car parks at Grand Val or Fréfossé instead: 15 euros covers the whole day.
Further out, a large free car park on the Route de Criquetot-l'Esneval sits about 20 minutes on foot from the seafront, and in high season an overflow field opens at the La Guézane entrance on the same road. If you are staying the night, ask the hotel about parking before you book.
New in 2026: order n°261/2026, signed on 20 August and listed on the town's orders page, lets the town close the village centre to cars once its car parks reach 90%. Barriers go up between 10:00 and 19:00 at four entrances (rue Anicet Bourgeois, rue Notre-Dame, rue Monge by Place Maurice Guillard, and avenue Damilaville). Only residents, hotel guests with a booking, disabled badge holders, deliveries and bikes get through. Busy days are expected every day to 31 August, then on school holidays, weekends and bank holidays from September to November.

How do you get from Paris to Étretat without a car?
By train from Paris Saint-Lazare to Bréauté-Beuzeville, then Nomad coach 504 to Étretat Le Grandval: about 2 hours 45 minutes. There is no station in Étretat itself.
Nomad's line 504 meets the trains at Bréauté-Beuzeville. It runs every day from 1 April to 31 August, and Friday to Sunday from November to April. On the timetable valid to 1 November 2026, the 8:40 from Saint-Lazare reaches Bréauté at 10:33 and the coach drops you at Étretat Le Grandval at 11:26. Coach fares follow Nomad's 2026 grid, revised on 5 July 2026: a single costs 2 euros for one zone and up to 5 euros for four or more (Nomad fares PDF). From April to early November SNCF also sells a single "train + car" Étretat ticket, according to the town. Off season, the town suggests the train to Le Havre and LiA bus 21 or 13, or the train to Fécamp and coach 509.

How do you get from the Le Havre cruise terminal to Étretat?

Ships berth at the Pointe de Floride terminals, rebuilt in 2025 and 2026. From there it is about 30 minutes on foot, or a short taxi ride, to Le Havre Gares, where line 21 leaves for Étretat about once an hour. Allow a good hour each way on the bus plus the walk, and a margin for the last bus back to the port.
